Wax It Is?
You don’t necessarily need to touch it to investigate.
Start by observing it.
Look at the Shape
Drips or trails may suggest melted wax that flowed onto the surface.
A neat, rounded blob may indicate that someone intentionally applied it.
A thin coating over a screw or seam may suggest a sealing or marking purpose.
Look at the Texture
Wax may appear:
- Smooth
- Brittle
- Glossy
- Cracked
- Soft
- Flaky
Its condition can provide clues about how long it has been there and how it was applied.
